Hello again!
This is somewhat related to my previous thread. My form has a submit/query/submit happening during Form Load to display a SharePoint ID number - it also uses a Person Picker on the form to populate the CC field of an outgoing Email data connection.
Certain behavior with the Person Picker causes my Form Load rules to run in the background and create additional submissions. These include: typing a name in the textbox incorrectly, or clicking the "Check Names" button... at all. Barring any way to prevent this behavior, I really only want the users to use the Address Book button.
I've used a terrible hacky method of preventing use of the textbox - I horizontally shrunk the control small enough that you can't see the textbox, and mirrored its contents to a read-only text field of my own. Unfortunately no amount of shrinking conceals the Check Names button - and my users keep clicking it despite the fact that it doesn't DO anything :-P
Is there ANY way at all to disable or hide these parts of this control? Is there any way to get any custom Javascript or CSS running on the form? Can Custom Code modify its appearance or behavior? Could I easily replace the Check Names Icon with a single pixel? Can I force a picture or field of any type to overlap and COVER the button so people can't click it?? Could I utilize a DIFFERENT control to achieve the same function as the Address Book?
I realize as a sort of self-contained activex control this thing isn't really supposed to be modified - I've just been researching for days and days and not coming up with much.
