    Copy and Paste/ Rules

    NEW USER QUESTION

How can I get Multiple text Circled in red to have the same rules without having the same information within the text field? While setting rules I want to be able to set up a YES or NO drop down, if the user selects NO option I do not want the information circled in red to populate. while coding I don't want to have to go into each text field and code each one since they are all exactly the same "IF field ** is equal to NO leave blank" . Is there a way to get multiple fields to have the same rules without having to go into each one individually?

What are the rules for copy and pasting?

    Do's and dont's

Can you attach your screenshot under the options tab in a reply? It doesn't display currently. You can copy and paste rules, but they sometimes need a little clean up after.

I'm sorry I am limited to do so. I basically am trying to get multiple sections or text box to have the same rules. I have copied and pasted by section. Now I am running into the issue of setting rules on text boxes.

I am setting the text box to populate  Yes or No -this is going to allow the user to pick either, I would like to copy and paste being that I have like 40 text boxes.  would I be able to copy and paste these rules without the user selecting one of them as "yes" and all of them changing to yes? that is what is happening now? Does this make sense ? Im sorry im new to this program.

You can copy rules on one field and paste them onto another field. But I am having a very hard time understanding what your issue is and what you are trying to do. Generally - if someone has 40 fields that need the same rules, I think there may be a design issue & that the schema should be leveraging repeating fields. It could also be that you have a bunch of controls on your form bound to the same field - based on your description, that may also be the case. I don't understand why you can't attach a screenshot or a sample form under the options tab in a reply - I don't know that anyone will be able to help you w/out additional info.
