    TimeStamp a repeating section control

Hi I have been attempting to timestamp a textbox in a repeating section control however it only works for the 1st repeating section What I am trying to achieve is each time a new user goes into the form and adds a repeating section to log an update it will timestamp their entry. Has anyone got any experience with this without using any kind of code?

Where is the rule? Is it on the field bound to the textbox? And where is the field that you are storing the date? In the same repeating table? You can always attach your form or a sample under the options tab in a reply - This should not require any code. :)

Re: TimeStamp a repeating section control

Hi Hilary Thanks for getting back to me so soon, I have been away however I can explain myself better now. The issue lies with coming back into the form to update it after it has been opened and saved. I have rules on the textboxes which are in a repeating section, these rules will not trigger when you add a new entry to the repeating section. Please find the attached form and carry out the following. - publish form to list - add new item (fill out the form, you'll see the date and time added automatically) - save the form - go back into the form and try to add a second entry to the repeating section, you will see my issue Kind Regards Jamie

Your rules are really.... odd. I don't understand them at all. Rules shouldn't be set on the field they target. Why not just put both rules on the Update field? So when it changes, it sets the date and the user? Or, see attached for an approach that uses rules on the repeating section itself. If you want to use defaults, you should be able to just set the default for the fields to the formula of today & now, instead of using numbers and then having rules to reset the value...
