InfoPath Dev

I have an ID number in a SharePoint list that currently is manually assigned when a user creates a new entry. I am creating a form in InfoPath 2016 that is just a pretty front end window for data entry. I have some cascading Listboxes that I am using. What I would like to be able to do, if possible, is get the ID box to look at the last value in the list and automatically add one. So the flow would be; 1. User opens 'Add new entry' 2. InfoPath form opens 3. Form looks at the last/highest ID that already exists in the SP List and adds one How would I achieve this if it is at all possible to do???? Thanks in advance TC

It is possible - query the list to get all items back, sort by ID desc. so that the first item will be the highest number, and add one to it. You need to be aware that if multiple users are querying the list at the same time you have a chance of more than one getting the same number. http://www.bizsupportonline.net/browserforms/autonumber-infopath-form-submitted-sharepoint-library.htm may help you as well.
