    Repeating Tables with default values

     Hi,

    Me again..

This time I'm confused what and why this is happening.

I've setup a repeating table and given it 3 or 4 default lines, each with a checkbox and a textbox for a title. It seems on some of the forms this work fine.. and some don't (See section screenshot)

Anybody, any ideas what and why this might happen?

    Thanks

    Mike

Not sure if the pictures are being seen? basically, the repeating when it works correctly, shows 3 or 4 lines, repeated but with different values and text as per setup in the default values area, selecting the first field line and adding another line below and so on...

this works fine for some forms but other I just get a repeat, 3 or 4 times off the same thing.

can I paste pictures in here?

Add your pictures under the Options tab, or put upload them someplace for image sharing & include a link.

For default data - if you made the change to include the repeating rows with the different values after you already had some forms filled out, the old ones will have the repeated nodes w/ just the first lines values. New ones will behave correctly. It just has to do w/ the way IP is handling the changed template, unfortunately.

Hey Hilary - hello again and thanks for your reply..

I've added a couple of pictures above - Yes new forms did work fine so I thought, but just had two new forms filled out and this happened which I thought was strange?

If there's no known fix for it - then so be it. a glitch in the matrix :-)

    Thanks again,

     Mike

Re: Repeating Tables with default values

So - when we add to default data, it goes into the template.xml file, which InfoPath uses to create a new, blank form. I would only expect to see this issue in forms that were created prior to the addition of the default data. If you have new ones showing up w/ the same issue, are they from a different user? Is this a browser form or a filler form? If filler, and if a different user, I'd expect the issue is with a cached copy of the form....

HIlary, Its a form filler form! You do have me wondering about somethings though! I have some guys who might save a copy of the form locally while they collect more data to fill out on the form. I'm wondering if they've used a slightly older copy of the template and before I made the up-dates. This is possible. Even though the created date might say (today) sort of thing.. it might be over a week old? HHHmmm.. I wonder..? I think I'll stop the option for saves.. I'll let you know - findings.. Thanks
