Repeating table getting values from drop-down list boxes

I have several drop-down list boxes which get their values from an External list. I need to check if the 1st drop down is blank then my repeating table should get the values from 2nd drop- down list, in case the 2nd one is blank, my repeating table should get the values from the 3rd drop-down list, and so on… The rule “Set a fields value” with a condition is not working. How can this problem be solved?

Hmmmm. I don't understand. Can you attach a copy of your template under the Options tab in a reply?

I need to check, if group is blank, then my repeating table should get values from unit, in case the unit is blank, my repeating table should get values from division, and so on

Okay, now I understand. Thanks for the sample form! So - the issue is we can't dynamically change the data source for a drop down. What you'll need to do is have a number of dropdowns, set up to use the different fields for their values, conditionally formatted to hide. See attached, save the file locally, right click & select Design to open in design mode & preview.

Thank you Hilary, the solution is very interesting! Just a problem still exists: when I choose an option from one of the drop-downs, all 3 are being changed as the drop-downs store duplicate data.

Sorry, I don't understand again. :) Maybe attach your latest form?

The last form is the form you sent. I mean the repeating table stores duplicate data, when one of the options is changed, the others are being changed as well

Okay, I must have misunderstood. I thought you wanted the Unit dropdown to have a different source for the values the user could select based on whether division, group, etc had a value. I'm sorry - I just don't understand what you are trying to achieve.

So - the point is to only show one of those at any given time - they are all bound to the same field. You just need to add to the conditional formatting so only the one with the value options you want users to be able to select from is displayed. Does that make sense?
