Please Help!!! Cascading drop downs working properly in preview but not in Sharepoint new item

I am using the cascading functionality. I did it first with a SP list and it worked in preview and in prod. However the list had other issues so i rebuilt my form in a form library. The preview works fine but the second drop down that is dependent on what is selected in the first is not working at all. I am completely stuck and would like someone to help me out.

So - to clarify - right now your 2nd dropdown filters properly when you preview, but not in the browser? Maybe drag the data fields for the data connections you are using onto the form temporarily to troubleshoot, so you can make sure the values in the browser are what you expect & data is being returned, etc?

Hey Hilary. Your understanding is correct. I didnt know you could drop data connections onto the form? Basically if I am using value as ID and Title from my list i can get both drop downs to work properly but when i set the second drop down data connection and filter the data to have first drop down equal main connection the values that are returned are just the number of the item i pick instead of the value.

In the fields task pane, find the data connection for your secondary data sources. Find the data fields. Drag the group onto the form. If this is a list form, you'll need to change the fields task pane to the advanced view.
