    Use variables/objects in different views

Hi there I am very new to infopath and have a question.

How do I use variables that I create under a button in a different view. Basically I have data in textboxes that I store in a variable under the button but I get NullPointer errors when I try using them in other views. I want the values in the textboxes to be stored so I can use the value they hold in another view.

Also I have a repeating table where I add all the data into a list when I click a button. In another view I want to press another button to access a specific index from that list but it always returns nothing even though it has been added to the list.

    Thank you for your help.

I'm not really sure what you mean in your question. Are you storing the data in data fields? If so, you can put the same data fields on your other view, either as calculated values, so they just display the data, or as text boxes so the user can change the data.

What it the rule on your button that is returning nothing?

Hopefully you aren't using code for any of this? You should be able to do these things with just rules / built in InfoPath behavior.
