InfoPath Dev

Our company is (still) using SharePoint 2007 and InfoPath 2007.  I am tasked with updating our company logo and name on all published forms and in doing so I have discovered that the date picker in every form is displaying an "X" where the calendar image should go.  When I open the form template in Design mode, the control image is correctly displayed but if I open an existing form from a SharePoint library or create a new form from a SharePoint library, the calendar image has an "X" inside where the calendar image would be.

Is this a browser compatibility issue?  Companywide our browsers are using IE 11 and default to compatibility view.  Also we are not using browser forms, everyone has InfoPath installed on their machine.
