    (401) Unauthorized, while connecting to a web service

    Hi all,

    i have following problem:

    i created an infopath 2013 form and published it to a form library form. I used a solution from http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/t/26246.aspx?PageIndex=1 to send an CAML to another SharePoint 2013 List. When i fill out this form from my local machine (via preview) - everything works fine. When i am trying to fill out the form and send it from SharePoint in browser i become an error: „An error occurred while trying to connect to a Web service.“. If on advansed settings i say, that the form should be fill out in a client application - it also works fine. Server log for an error:

    Form submission failed. (User: 0#.w|lliw2k\llirad3, Form Name: Overview MPS RC, IP: , Request: {server}_layouts/15/FormServer.aspx?XsnLocation={server}Overview LRU RC/Forms/template.xsn&SaveLocation={server}Overview LRU RC&ClientInstalled=true&DefaultItemOpen=1&Source={server}Overview%2520LRU%2520RC/Forms/AllItems.aspx#, Form ID: urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:infopath:Overview-MPS-RC:-myXSD-2015-03-24T05-52-45, Type: DataAdapterException, Exception Message: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized. The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.)

    Server admin said, that from browser the infopath form should take identity from "Application Pool Identity" to connect to a webservice. Can someone help me to find out, how to do it?

    Best regards

    Hello Shmul,

    In this instance you're going to want to convert the data connection file to a udcx. You can then use your app pool credentials to authenticate the data connection. I attached a udcx for your reference, but the line you will want to edit in the udcx you create is this:

     <!--udc:Authentication><udc:SSO AppId='' CredentialType='' /></udc:Authentication-->

    to

    <udc:Authentication><udc:SSO AppId='APPidNameHere' CredentialType='NTLM' /></udc:Authentication>

    Hope that helps!
    Bre

    Many thanks!!!

    I forgot about this solution, thought, that it is only useful for GetUserInfoFromName webservice.
