browser form's promoted property changed to read-write but cannot update from SharePoint Designer

My InfoPath 2010 browser-enabled form has several promoted fields which are read-only in SharePoint's form library.  My customer just asked for a change that requires a SharePoint Designer workflow to update one of those fields, called Request_Status.

I republished the form with Request_Status as a read-write field, and I can now update it in SharePoint's Edit Properties.   But Request_Status is not showing up in SharePoint Designer as a field I can update.

Don't want to delete and re-create the field - the solution is already in production.  I tried saving the form library as a template, but that didn't help.  Anyone know how to fix?

    Thank you!

    Hi SusanP,

you could try creating a new field in sharepoint as a calculated value with the information from your Request_Status field. This new field should be edditible.

    Hope it helps.
