    InfoPath 2010

I have a repeating table that gives me four running sums for four different fields when they are entered.  I am trying to change the last row color of this repeating table so that after each time I insert a new row the previous row has no color and the new last row does.  I tried just using last() in my formatting rule for the repeating table but all the rows are highlighted.  I'm pretty new to this and can't figure it out.  I was able todo alternating rows but that's not really what I want.

    Thanks in advance.

     Hello Ann Vlna,

last() is a tricky function of InfoPath and you will notice if it is in the repeating group itself, InfoPath is not sure which is last(). By using sibling (preceding or following) you can create logic to highlight.

In the attached example, there are 2 tables. The first uses a formula in the condition to specify the last entry. The second uses a helper field that calculates the number o total rows, and compares that to the count of the preceding-sibling + 1.

Hope that answers your question, let me know how it goes!

     Hi Bre,

Thanks for the help and the explanations.  I tried them both and they worked great!  I used the first one but am keeping both for my files.
