Please help! If/then functions in InfoPath for complete newbie

    Hi guys!

I am a complete newbie with InfoPath and the functions used in InfoPath are completely unknown to me.

I am creating a form and I would like to usen if/then function in it, if possible. Here is how it work in my head:

I have dropdown lists with text choices in field1 and field2. I have field3 and field4 with decimal values. I would like to create a rule/function/formula(?), so that when field1 has text value X1 and field2 has text value X2, a result of calculation "number value of field3 * 160" is shown in field4.

    or:

    IF(field1=X1 AND field2=X2) THEN field4=field3*160

    Thanks a lot in advance!

     Hello mirzaterzic,

You are definitely on the right track! It is important to remember that in InfoPath rules only fire when a field changes. The If/Then function is what you will want to use on the condition for an action rule. In this instance, you would want the rule to fire from a change to field3 to set field4 to field3 * 160.

I've include a quick example. Please look at the rule on field3.

    Thanks!
