InfoPath Dev

I've seen similar posts, but I can't quite understand the answers other than the fact that this probably cannot be done. I created a "form" in Excel, and messing with the controls was a pain, so I tinkered with InfoPath and exported my Excel "form" to InfoPath. I was very happy with the designing and filling part of InfoPath. For my purposes though, I need the form to be what I know as "Shared" in Excel terms. In other words, several people can fill it out at the same time. Each section of my form is dedicated to a certain group of people, so a "Shared" feature is a necessity. If this is built into InfoPath somewhere, then I am perfectly happy with that, but I can't seem to find a straight answer on this topic. If I can keep my form in InfoPath, that would be preferred because at some point I may need to analyze the data of several forms. If not, then I need a way to export my InfoPath form to Excel. I'm pretty new to InfoPath. Ideas?

I am also open to moving it to MS Word if I can get a concurrent editing function working. I can't use SharePoint, and SkyDrive does not have enough space.

Hi - InfoPath doesn't have anything that I know of that would allow multiple users to work on the same XML at the same time. I don't know of a way to export an InfoPath form to Excel or Word, I'm afraid.

Why do multiple users need to be able to change the same data at the same time?

Not to drop any names, but it is for the same reason that a group may need to work on a document/powerpoint on Google Drive (which is real-time collaboration). Our type of business does not have time to pass around a document and wait for everyone to do their part because of the nature of the forms purpose. It is far more efficient to do a simultaneous collaboration on the same document. This is not necessarily a data grabbing type of form (although the exporting of data from InfoPath to Excel looks quite useful for tracebility purposes), it's more of a record. If you're familiar, it is an Engineering Change Notice form.

Makes sense - I just usually start with questioning things like that. :) I think InfoPath may not be the right solution here since you need to be able to all work on the same data at the same time.

Understandable. What I don't understand is how I was able to import my form rough draft from Excel to InfoPath, but not from InfoPath to Excel. The controls are the same, the built in macros should be built the same way because it is all built by Microsoft, and it is now 2014, in an age where cross-program integration is common in software, so integration should be a no brainer. But that's just my two cents. Thank you for the information :)
