I have built a form, that has been around for about a year, with a people picker the sends to an SP and Emails a copy to the user. At first the people picker information was showing in the email, but as of recent within a couple of weeks, the field is failing to populate the people chosen. No update to the form has been done. I have found a workaround on here

However this workaround does not work when the People Picker allows for multiple selections; and InfoPath begins to freeze. I am wondering if anyone else has seen or had this issue more recently as the article above is from 2012 and if you have a fix.
