Hello everyone, I've been having this problem with a few Infopath forms.

 There is a lookup field that brings options from a Sharepoint list such as the following:

Area:

*Warehouse

*Quality

*Process

I selected Quality and then saved the form. What happened next was that when viewing the form, it did't say Quality. Instead there was a number which corresponds with the ID of the Item Quality in the lookup list.

I've checked the information in the database and it is correct, it says Area: Quality. Besides, what's even stranger is that when opening the Edit Form there is no error.

The settings of the dropdown box are exactly the same for the View form and the Edit form.

 What could be possibly happening, any ideas??

 Is your Area column in SharePoint possibly a lookup column? If so, then even though the SharePoint list will display the text values Warehouse, Quality and Process, it is actually storing the IDs for these values, and so when you access Area in the form all you see are the IDs.

You're going to need to add to your form a data connection directly to the list that stores the text values for Area, and then in your form for the field you want to display the text values, you will need to look up the ID using this data connection and set that field to the text value corresponding to the ID.

Hi, thanks for your reply! It is indeed a lookup column, but the connection you mention already exists. It's really strange though, because with some forms the error occurs and with others it doesn't...
