My company provides IT support for a fairly large organization that utilizes a number of InfoPath forms integrated into their SharePoint portal. The majority of users at this organization access their portal and InfoPath through Citrix. Their SharePoint site is 2010, but their InfoPath was, until recently, still on 2007.
One form in particular was designed to be opened from SharePoint, but rather than submit back to the forms library just goes as an email with email form functionality enabled. The end recipient of the form would print it out directly from Outlook.
Sometime in the last 1-2 months (not exactly sure of the specific timeframe) these forms stopped printing for all users at this organization. Printing is still an option within the form, and users can still select the option to print and send, but the documents seem to go nowhere... they do not make it to the print queue. Users can work around this by saving the form as a PDF and printing from that, but any attempt to print the form from an email fails.
We tried to replicate the problem using a test user account, logging into their Citrix environment and repeating the same steps, but we were printing to our local printers and printing never failed on our end.
Upgrading their InfoPath to 2010 seemed to resolve the issue for some users, but not all.
I have searched online for other instances of similar issues, but have not been able to find any. Looking for any suggestions as to what might be causing this.
