How do I add new entry instead of update existing entry after Submit?

INFOPATH 2010 I have a main form where it list several subforms which each subform is activated via a button. I click on one of the subforms, entered info in the fields, click Submit which update a simple Sharepoint list, reset all fields, then switch view back to the main form. Then I click on another subform, entered info in fields, click Submit......this is where my issue is.......why is it that it UPDATED the entry created by previous subform instead of creating a new entry? Did I miss something here? Thanks!!!

    Hi Roach71,

It seems like the form did not generate a new ID when you submitted your data. May I know how you are submitting to your SharePoint list? if you are using CAML, then there is a node at the CAML mapping name Cmd. You should set this node to New instead of Update. Also, you may need to clear or reset some of your form's field values in order for your form to submit new data. Hope this helps.

I figured out by clearing the ID field after submitting via a  Submit button that I added, not the Ribbon's Submit button which I deactivated it.

This company has severely limited my ability to do what I want with InfoPath, meaning can't do any codings so have to deal with OOB stuff.

     Thanks!
