Can no longer open existing forms or preview templates in designer; Cannot open a new form. Access is denied.

I recently published some form changes from my desktop template to the SharePoint 2013 site, as I've done many times before. I'm on InfoPath 2010. I then clicked on one of the existing forms in that library to make sure all was well, got the yellow ribbon to update my template and did. InfoPath did it's saving thing and then threw an error:

"The form cannot be opened. To fix this problem, contact the form designer."  This document library was either renamed or deleted, or network problems are preventing the file from being opened. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator.

The library wasn't renamed, deleted or moved. I now can't open ANY forms, even brand new ones from templates not associated with this one at all. I can open all templates in design mode but I get a similar error to the above when I try to Preview. I also tried starting a brand new blank template to see if I could preview you it and same error.

This is not happening to users who didn't make the template update. It  is happening to another user who selected to use the updated template.

     I've tried:

    Republishing

Saving as a new form and republishing

Saving as a new form and republishing to a new library

Extracting the .cab files and using the manifest.xsn to rebuild (unchanged) - then save and publish to a new library

Opening the manifest.xsn from within the .cab and get the cannot open error but with these details:  The following file is either missing or not included in the form template: myschema.xsd; To fix this problem, on the Data tab, click Resource Files and then add the specified file.

In all cases, I cannot open in Preview mode or open the forms themselves. Again this is not just the template and forms in question, I can't even open new templates that have no connections or data.

    Help would be greatly appreciated!!!
