Multiple columns in a Multi-select list box?

Is there any control (native or 3rd party developed) that would allow me to create a multi-select list box that displays multiple fields (from the same list, of couse) on each row of the list box?

    Here's my situation:

I'm writing a scheduling application in SharePoint 2010.  Some events have multiple sessions - the same presentation being done 2 or more times - and the employee need only attend 1 of the sessions.   Each session can be assigned to either zero or one events.

So, I have two main lists - Sessions and Events.  Sessions are created by sending an invitation from MS Outlook, then using SharePoint to add any additional info.  Events are created directly in SharePoint.  Sessions are assigned to an event by setting a value in the "Event Title" field on the Session List.  (This field is limited to values from the Title Field on the Event list.)

I'm trying to create an easy way to group Sessions into Events.  My thought was to edit the Create Event form in InfoPath2010 so that

    1. The form allowed entry of the Event Info (just 2 fields, event title and description)

    2. The form included a Multi-Select List showing all of the Sessions that weren't already assigned to an event.

    3. The user could enter the Event Title and Description, then select the Session that she wanted grouped with that event.

    4. Clicking the Save button would add the Event Title to the proper field in the Sessions to link the Sessions to the event.

This all seems to work, but the user experience is not so good.  The OOB Multi Select List Box only displays one field - in my case the Session Title.  The app would be much easier for my users if I could display start time, stop time and location for the session in the list box.  (Extra credit if the user can sort by any of the displayed fields as well.)

Any and all suggestions will be welcome.

     Thank you.

    Tom

So the values for the multi select come from a SharePoint list? Could you add a calculated field to the list that concatenates the values you want for your multi select options?

For me this is the best approach. I was able to concat() what fields I wanted to present to the user into one field and then pull the list based off of that. I then used concat() and substring() on the selected items to manipulate the data to get precisely what was needed. Great work around and solution.
