Need help with Validation based on Employee List

I am unable to populate Employee field through a SOAP web service configuration. The form populates other data such as, e-mail, first name, last name, manager. Could anyone provide me detailed instructions on how to achieve this?

    Hi,

May I know which SOAP web service method you are using? If this is a UserProfileService such as GetUserProfileByName, would it be possible for you to drag the data fields onto your canvas, preview your form, and check if fields such as PreferredName is populated? If it's populated, then you would need to set the value of the Employee field to the desired node, if not, then the problem isn't the approach you are using but the data on your server is missing or not complete. Please let me know if this helps.

Steve. Thanks for replying. I was able to pull data in all the fields in Infopath preview but when I try to add an item on the list in SharePoint I get 5566 error message. any idea what's going wrong?

I am unable to pinpoint the exact error here but there was a previous thread which discussed the Log ID:5566 error:

It may probably be a problem with the credentials you are using, or a server sided error.
