    Infopath Receive Data Connection and Https Sharepoint list

    Hello,

     I've been trying to figure out how I can enable a bunch (20-30) dropdown lists on an infopath form to be populated from a sharepoint list that is https....

    I've gone through the normal wizard, selected a new receive connection, used https://hostname (where hostname is my server hostname), selected the list I wanted and then selected the field name in the list and it all went through without any problems.

    However when I go to try to use it, or preview it.  It starts by giving me a Microsoft Office Infopath security notice letting me know I'm connecting to my server and asking if I want to proceed.  I click "yes" and it says "One or more data sources that are required to open this form are not available.  They may be temporarily offline or your computer might not be connected to the network.  To try to connect to data sources click "Try to Connect". To use previously stored data, click "Work Offline".

    If I click "Show Details" it says: The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: Test List.  Infopath cannot run the specified query.  Infopath either cannot connect to the data source, the service has timed out, or the server has an invalid certificate.

    If I click "Try to Connect"  It says Infopath contacted a data source but failed to receive data.  The form will load without the requested data.  If I try "show details" on this message I get: The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: Test List.  Infopath cannot run the specified query.  Infopath either cannot connect to the data source, the service has timed out, or the server has an invalid certificate.

    The server itself is on a stand alone network with no external connection using "SelfSSL" to assign its certificate and SSL enable the site.  The site works fine and we surf and use it with https://hostname (where hostname is the server name) for everything and have never had any sort of issues.

    How do I go about troubleshooting this.  There doesn't seem to be much in the Event logs related to it.  On the workstation I try to get to it from I get two MSSOAP errors in my event log:

    Source MSSOAP Event ID: 16 Description: Soap Error: Bad certification authority

    Source MSSOAP Event ID: 16 Description: Soap Error: Unspecified HTTP error.

    Being that this server is self-signing and we aren't using an actual certification authority for anything, how do I get the form to work?  Are there other things I can check to try to figure this out?  I have done some googles on it and haven't found anything that seems to apply to my situation.

    Thanks,

    Craig

    Hello Craig;

    I got the following error:

    "InfoPath cannot connect to the server. The server may be offline, your computer might not be connected to the network, or InfoPath Forms Services 2010 might not be enabled on the server. To fix this problem, start by checking your network connection..."

    Can you please inform me if you founda the solution related to this topic.

    Kind regards,

    Ozgen
