Hello all! I am trying to create cascading drop down in a basic form that submits the data to an access database.
I was able to follow this guide http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/greg/archive/2005/07/14/Create-a-Repeating-Cascading-List-from-a-Flat-Data-Source.aspx and it has helped a tremendous amount; however, I am running into a problem that I was hoping you could give some insight into.
Basically, if I create the form as a blank template that does not submit to a database, everything works perfect, just as the tutorial says.
If I create a form based off of a data connection to a MS access data base, I run into a problem with the filter. All of the data loads from the XML file just fine, in each drop down; however, when I get to the step that says, "Filter the Model drop-down list based on the selected Year in the current row:", I get an error. In particular, I am able to follow each of the steps until I get to the part that says enter the formula, "current()/my:Year" . It tells me that the formula has an error. I think it involves the /my: portion of the formula, but I have no idea.
Procedurally, I think that I am following the correct steps, because I am able to make it work just fine when I do not use a database connection for the fields that I want to cascade, but I am at a loss for what to do now. Any help or guidance would be tremendously appreciated.
Thank you in advanced!
James
