Here is a simplified scenario to
demonstrate this problem.
I created Sharepoint list
"Suppliers" with 2 text line fields -
-
"Supplier Name"
- "Contact"
I populated it with two records:
{"Supp1", "John Doe"}, {Supp2", "Jack
Ripper")
I created Sharepoint list
"Transactions" with 2 the following fields
-
"Transaction" - text line
- "Supplier_lu" - lookup based on "Supplier Name" field in the "Suppliers" list
- "Contact_lu" - lookup based on "Contact" field
in the "Suppliers" list
In Infopath I create a form for “Transactions”:
-
I set the rules to auto-populate “Contact_lu” when I enter a supplier in "Supplier_lu”.
- The "Supplier_lu" dropbox had "ID" as “Value” and "Supplier Name" as "Display Name"
- The "Contact_lu" dropbox had "ID" as value and "Contact" as "Display Name"
Here is what happens:
-
When I choose “Supp1” in "Supplier_lu", nothing happens
- I now change in the "Supplier_lu" dropbox the Value to “Supplier Name” as well
- Now, when I choose “Supp1” in "Supplier_lu", I can see the right value (“John Doe”) in “Contact_lu”, but both fields are framed in red for “Only positive integers allowed” error
What am I doing wrong?
