 I understand the concept of alternating row color

(count(preceding-sibling::my:MyGroupName) + 1) mod 2 > 0 

or

position() mod 2 =0 

but I have a table that displays specific data. I am hiding the other rows. when I apply the alternate row colow it applies it as if no rows are hidden. How can I apply this to only the visible rows? 

 sorry for the bother. I solved this. I actually did a count of the field when it is not blank, then hide the rows where that field was blank, came back perfect
