InfoPath Dev

Hello. I am seeking a way to alphabetize a field on a Infopath Form that is published in SharePoint 2013. The items within the field are not in alphabetical order. Does anyone know how this can be done? Or, would it be easier to add a ascending or descending bottom to the field? Is this possible? Thanks in advance for your assistance. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I believe for anyone to answer this they are going to want to know the type of control you are using and what is your data source?  Are you using a dropdown control, textbox, listbox?  Are you retrieving data from SharePoint list or SQL database to fill the control or are you typing in values? and what version of InfoPath?
