How to lock a field once it has been valued.

    INfpPath 2010 form.

    Hi,

I have an form I am trying to finalize and I want to lock down a field after it is valued.  Here is how it works:

A user comes in and enters their email ID "rcastellano" and they hit the check box to ID them in the people checker. Then another field (DisplayName) is valued with the Display name from the people picker. "Castellano, Rocco"

The field I want to lock down is marked "HDTicketNumber". The logic here is the field will return the value of all the ticket numbers the Display name has when the Account ID from the Main Data source is equal to the Account ID of the secondary data connection.

upon Exiting the form, the Infopath submits and the form is stored fine. I just found that when the user goes back into the Form , this field (HDTicketNumber ) is now blank which makes sense...it is still querying..., so my question is how do you lock down a drop down field like this in this senario?

    Any assistance is appreciated.

    Regards,

I may just be being silly here but have you checked the box which says after ticking the check box stop processing more rules?  That might stop it from doing any further querying...
