Hello experts,
I am building a browser form that will be implementing on SharePoint, and I ran into a problem which I hope you can help me. I tried to find a solution for it for days before I actually seek out for help. I am using InfoPath 2010 and SharePoint 2010.
I would like ot know what I am doing wrong. I broke my data into three SharePoint Lists (Asia, Europe, North America) because if I combined them, it will have a total of 4K records. If I used one list, it will slow the form loading performance. I have data connection with all three lists.
APPROACH ONE:
Dropdown 1: Location (Choices: Asia, Europe, North America)
I have connected with a SharePoint list titled Location and set it as a default list.
Manage Rule:
1. If Location = "Asia", query Asia list from SharePoint and set the Family dropdown field to Family from the secondary source.
2. If Location = "Europe", query Europe list from SharePoint and set the Family dropdown field to Family from the secondary source.
3. If Location = "North America", query NorthAmerica list from SharePoint and set the Family dropdown field to Family from the secondary source.
4. If Location field changes, set Family dropdown box to " " (blank).
Dropdown 2: Family (Choices: Blackbear, Wildcat, Ocean Star, etc)
This approach left the Family dropdown list box empty.
APPROACH TWO:
Dropdown 1: Location (Choices: Asia, Europe, North America)
I have connected with a SharePoint list titled Location and set it as a default list.
Manage Rule:

Dropdown 2: Family (Choices: Blackbear, Wildcat, Ocean Star, etc)
1. If Location = "Asia", query Asia list from SharePoint and set the Family dropdown field to Family.
2. If Location = "Europe", query Europe list from SharePoint and set the Family dropdown field to Family.
3. If Location = "North America", query NorthAmerica list from SharePoint and set the Family dropdown field to Family.
This approach is no better than the previous one.
Is I am missing something?
Thank you very much for help. I appreciate.
