What "name" exactly do I need for me-filter?

     Greetings everyone!

I apologize should I be asking stupid questions, but I just can not find this very information.

What I am  trying to do:

...is actually rather simple: Change the standard view of a document library to a view that filters only the relevant objects for the loged in user.

Now the "problem" is that this filter is set not to the modified by or created by columns,
but to a column (actually, multiple ones) that is linked to a field in the form.

I tried extracting the "DisplayName" of a People Picker Control
I also tried using the "PreferredName" and "AccountName" value of the Sharepoint User Profile Web Service.

Both variants didn't work out. In sharepoint library, using the "all documents" view, I see the correct names (or I think "AccountName" gave me the users login-name) in the correct columns.
Also, I tried both filters <columns IS EQUAL TO [me]> and <column CONTAINS [me]>

...still, login in as this specific user still does not show him "his" items.

So, could someone tell me what name exactly I need the form to send to the sharepoint library so this filter works?

     Additionally:

I'll need a "way to get there" from both starting points (User Profile Web Service AND People Picker Control).

So say I needed the AccountName-information of the Web Service, then how can I transfer the People Picker-entry to be used by the Web Service as AccountName-query (so it does not search for the Profile information of the loged in user, but of the user I picked in the People Picker control?)

I thank you for all your time you invested in helping me and wish you a pleasant day.

Create another column in your library i.e. Partner AD (set as a people/group).

Publish the display name field to your SharePoint list. i.e. FormPartner.

Then have a workflow run which sets your Partner AD to the value of your Form Partner.

Then in your view filter Partner AD by [me]
