    Publishing secondary data source fields

    Hello,

I've been trying to get an answer for this question for a long time and had no luck on it. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I have a main source and secondary data source in my InfoPath 2007 web browser form that Im trying to publish in SharePoint 2007, both these data connections are fed by SQL Server on the back end, however when I publish this to the share point server on the publishing wizard I do not see the Secondary Data Source fields to see as columns in SharePoint library. Is there any work around for this? I would greatly appreciate if some one can point me to the right source.

    Thanks again

    Regards

    Venkat

    Hi Venkat,

Secondary data sources are not stored from one session to the next. These need to be queried each time they are needed.

If you need to preserve data, submit it as part of the xml, promote data into SharePoint columns, this data HAS to be a part of the main data source.

The workaround is to store the data in the main data source. Use rules to set the value of fields in the main data source.

    Good luck!
