Can you have a disable formatting rule as well as a hide formatting rule on the same button?

I have a button that i want to disable if 'cost' field is blank. I have set this rule up and it works fine. I then added a rule on the same button to hide this button if 'name' is not equal to Joe Blogges (this name is used in the form for testing) - when i have both of these rules set up on the button only the rule that is on top actually works? can you have a hide and disable rule on the same button? ive never seen this problem before.

Im trying to do this rule on a view i have added in and not the default view if that makes any difference

    thanks

You can have both on the same control but play around with the order. If the conditions are both met, then the control could be hidden instead of disabled!
