All,
Brain Dead moment.
I have many forms which use the getuserprofilebyname service to populate username details i.e. - http://blogs.microsoft.co.il/blogs/itaysk/archive/2007/04/05/InfoPath-_2D00_-Get-the-current-user-without-writing-code.aspx I generally use the PreferredName for an employee name. This is populated on form creation and not refreshed on subsequent form opens.
I also often have set current user field which uses the following default value on form load - translate(value[name = "accountname"], "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz", "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz"). I use this for views and permissions etc.
Looking back at some of my forms I need a "created by" view, where by the created by is actually the employee name - how can I do that? i.e. for the employee name = current user. Ideally this needs to be done so that I can just 'update' the design of the form.
Thanks
