I have a SharePoint library that uses an InfoPath template. The template has the primary data connection to submit the form data to SharePoint then 2 secondary data connections to SharePoint lists. Both secondary data connections are not saved with the form nor do they pull the data when the form loads. These connections populate several dropdowns.
Everything works terrific when my guys are on-site however when they are not they have to VPN in to our network (don't get me started). it would be MUCH easier and time effective (since they are in front of customers) to have the form saved locally for them to complete then when they are connected to either open each one and submit or have a way to push the contents of the folder to the SharePoint site and maybe delete the form from the local folder.
I have found several articles on this topic but they don't seem complete. I get that I would need an additonal content type. I get that the data connections should be changed so that the data is stored with the form and not triggered when needed. I also know that I would change my code behind my SAVE button so when the user saved the offline form it wont call the library for last ID #, + 1, get users initials and concat both to create the filename.
Now when I disconnect from the network and open the form in Filler those dropdowns that get their contents from data connections are empty. I am missing something. Does anyone know how to do this or do you know of an article that has good instructions?
Any help would be appreciated.
