Infopath 2007 error while submitting to SharePoint 2007

Hello, I am facing an issue. We have many users using Infopath 2007 and submitting the form to SharePoint 2007. Eg : User A submits form successfully many times.Sometimes when submitting , gets error message as (InfoPath cannot submit the form. An error occurred while the form was being submitted. The form cannot be submitted to the following location: http:// The site may be offline, read-only, or otherwise unavailable. The thread is already in background processing mode.) .

This issue is also faced for some other users. When looking the file at SP library, it does not look like a valid XSN file. When clicking the file gets error message as " The XML page cannot be displayed Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource '................. Please note that this happens some time only.Rest of the time the same users can submit the form without any issue. We are using Infopath 2007 / SharePoint 2007. Please help me out with a solution. Thanks

    Hi RRajan,

The first issue seems like either a) user not connected to internet, or b) resource issue on server. Please make sure users are online and that the server has enough RAM and CPU to handle the requests. For 2007 I would recommend 8Gb RAM and a minimum dual proc 2.5Ghz or above. If you already have that, try doubling to 16Gb and quad proc. If that doesn't work, time to do some load balancing - see Microsoft prescriptive guidance for the best patterns there.

For the second issue, this is usually because of a local machine installation issue with InfoPath filler in which case we ask users to reinstall InfoPath and/or Office. However, you said it was only happening some of the time. Download the XML and save it locally and open it in notepad and confirm that the InfoPAth form is correctly referenced at the top of the form and that the encoding is correct.

    Good luck!
