Republishing the infopath form, Not showing the promoted fields value in SP list view.

Hi Team, I am very new to the sharepoint infopath 2007. My problem is : I have one ifnopath form having few promoted fields and published directly to the document library in the Sharepoint site. Now I didn't make any changes to infopath form but i republished to document library . Now I am unable to see the values promoted fields in the personal view . (In the SP listview webpart, the values are not coming). If i open the each existed form and come back to the List view, then field values are showing. I have thousand of forms in the lsit, SO i can't open the each form please give me the short solution for this. Its very urgent . please help me asap. Regards, Vinuraj

    Hi Vinuraj,

You are not the only one with this problem. It is unfortunately very common.

We are going to cover this topic in next week's webinar, but for the time being... you can move your existing XMLs out of the library using the Windows Explorer icon in the ShP ribbon. Then, just copy them back in there. The promoted properties should come in.

To prevent this problem in the future, I recommend being very careful about how you save and publish your InfoPath form before re-publishing to SharePoint. Typically, this problem happens if the form is republished from one site to another since the sites have GUID specific columns and the form recomputes those when it is published to a new site.

    Good luck,

    HI Patrick,

    Thanks for the reply.

Please let me know whether my ideal approach would be correct or not.

I would like create a new form library  which infopath form deployed newly.

Copy the existed forms in the old form library using explorer view and paste to the new form library. will it work ?.

If it works i have two questions..

    1) Regaridng Alerts -  The Alerts are already declared in the old form library per user based.  What is the best to do regarding alerts for above ideal approach ?

    2) Status of form - If we copy paste to new form library , the form status will become 'NEW' ?

Please let me know other best appraochs if you feel.

    Regards,

    Rajesh G
