    Splitting merged data

Hi, I merged all values of repeating table column wise and stored in sharepoint point form library using eval function. Now, I want to display that data as repeating table in another infopath form. I tried to grab the data from form library but only merged data coming as a single column. How can I split that as a repeating table? Please help me.

Splitting the merge data is probably something that you won't be able to accomplish with out of the box InfoPath. Maybe with code.

But why do that? Can't you query to get the entire XML document and that secondary data source will contain the repeating data (unmerged). Won't that work for your scenario? Tell us more...

I merged repeating table rows with a delimiter. Through secondary data source I am getting merged data only. If it is possible could you please explain the method.

So the data is merged before submitting the XML?

Could you attach the XSN published to your form library? You can attach via the Options tab. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply ErnestoM.  For some reason I can't attach the XSN.

Yes, I merged the data using eval function in a separate field then submitted to form library as the XML.

First, I tried to use merge function while promoting fields. Even in this method also, I got merged data only as single column in the repeating table.

    I'm a bit confused.

There's a difference between the XML contents and the promoted property.

You can set the promoted property to merge the contents. But that affects only the column (promoted property) and leaves the XML data intact.

I'm guessing that you could merge the data within the form, and use a specific delimiter (which doesn't occurr in the data). So let's say you use a delimiter like *.

Then, when the data is queried, you could (using code, I think) break up that data back into a repeating structure, based on the *.

It's a bit complex; we could try doing this using the DelimitedList command in qRules, but it should be possible using code as well. Good luck!
