I downloaded QRules to test using one form to send items to multiple lists. I've setup a CAML manually to do this but I need to be able to use Date Pickers and drop downs instead of just text, that this method allows: http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/matt/archive/2006/02/02/Add-SharePoint-List-Items-with-InfoPath.aspx After mapping the fields, injecting the form, and setting up the submit button I only get list items that say (no title), and the other columns are blank. This is a standard custom list in SP 2010 Enterprise, with 4 fields, title, assigned To, date, and urgent. This is the mapping file: {3CB049AD-BD74-4994-8629-E4135B179AEF} true my:myFields/my:Tasks my:myFields/my:Tasks/my:Title Title my:myFields/my:Tasks/my:Assigned Assigned my:myFields/my:Tasks/my:AssignedDate AssignedDate my:myFields/my:Tasks/my:Urgent Urgent https://...../demo Is this happening because this is a trial copy, or because something else is wrong? 11-26-2012 09:01 AM In reply to Hilary Stoupa Joined on 06-20-2008 Posts 13,297 Re: QRules - InfoPath to SP List, (no title) list items are getting created Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Sure, thank you. I've attached it. 11-26-2012 09:35 AM In reply to Hilary Stoupa Joined on 06-20-2008 Posts 13,297 Re: QRules - InfoPath to SP List, (no title) list items are getting created QRulesTest.xsn Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact So, you'll want to save the attached file locally, right click the saved file and select Design to open in design mode - from there you can preview, see the changes I made, etc.I noticed you had a second, disabled rule on your button - you were right to disable that, because qRules will also execute the submit data connection. I think that may be where your blank item was getting created. There was an issue with your mapping file -I'm not sure how it happened, but you had a repeating group indicated, yet the individual field mappings were not relative paths from that repeating group - they were full paths. So, I'm assuming that the batch wasn't being created properly. I've added the qRules Error node onto your form too, so you have that to return any errors when you try this new version.Give this copy a try & let me know what happens.... Reply Contact Wow, that worked just as advertised. Yea, I decided to try the original way with the second rule to see if something was off there. Looks like this will do exactly what we need. Thank you very much! 11-26-2012 09:59 AM In reply to Hilary Stoupa Joined on 06-20-2008 Posts 13,297 Re: QRules - InfoPath to SP List, (no title) list items are getting created Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact You bet - it can be kind of confusing the first few times you set it up, but pretty handy to not have to write & maintain custom code every time you want to save some stuff to a list. :-) There are a ton of other useful commands - a sample form and a user guide are included when you install qRules to help you find & understand them, and we keep a pretty close eye on the forum for questions, so don't hesitate to post if you have trouble. Reply Contact I tried to set it up in our Dev environment on the more complex form to submit to multiple lists and now it won't even 'submit'. I don't get an error from the QRules Mapping and nothing at all hits the appropriate list, which is odd. I did have to use multiple mapping files though so I'm using the mapping command on the Submit button. The mapping files look good, as in they didn't have the same issue the first one I made did with the repeating groups. Reply Contact So, the very first thing I do when I hear something like this is see if qRules works at all in the form. When I went to preview your form, I got a warning about it not being able to find it's custom code - is there a chance you may have accidentally added code to your form? It is possible to use qRules with custom code, if that is what you want, and I'll get you a document link on that if so - but more often, people accidentally add it - InfoPath makes it very easy to do - and it disables qRules. To remove this, go under File > Form Options (IP 2010 - Tools / Form Options for IP 2007) and under Programming, click the Remove Code button. Save and close your template. Then re-inject your template with qRules again and see what happens.... Reply Contact I feel a little dumb that I spun my wheels for so long this morning on it, especially since I didn't add any code intentionally. Thank you very much. It looks to be cranking along now. 11-27-2012 03:02 PM In reply to Hilary Stoupa Joined on 06-20-2008 Posts 13,297 Re: QRules - InfoPath to SP List, (no title) list items are getting created Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Don't feel dumb. The hint for me was that you weren't getting an error & nothing was being created. On your machine, it could find the code files, so it didn't give you any information about code having been added. What I do is put the command and result field on the form, then preview and type GenerateGuid in the command field - you should get a shiny new GUID in the result. If you don't - something has disabled qRules. :-) Hilary Stoupa Page 1 of 1 (10 items) Copyright © 2003-2019 Qdabra Software. All rights reserved.View our Terms of Use.
