    Injected previously created form

Hi I've injected QRules into an existing form but I can't get the rules to work. I've tried the following two rules without success. These are on Form Load: Delete /xpath=/my:myFields/my:grpSupport/my:Support Insert /parent=/my:myFields/my:grpSupport /child=my:Support count=10 How can I debug them? Regards Peter

Hi - couple of things - instead of running the rules on FormLoad, there is a node in the QdabraRules data source called "finishedLoading" - run your rules on that with the condition that the node value is equal to true - since rules run before code, form load rules and qRules can be a little tricky.

Also in the QdabraRules data source is a node called Error - put that on your form, and then try your commands one at a time (just try the Delete command, then add the Insert command, for example). If there is an issue with the command, you'll get an error.

Sometimes people inject qRules and then accidentally disable it by adding custom code to their form - if that has happened, you'll want to go to Form Options / Programming / Remove Code and then re-inject.

    Hope that helps!

WOW! Thanx for the quick reply. I've done all of the above except for removing my custom code which I need and it's still not working. Does that mean that I won't be able to have custom code or is there a work-around? Regards Peter

The qRules DLL won't work via regular injection if you have custom code - but you can still use the DLL - just have to do it a bit differently than injecting. Here's a document on this - let me know if you have any trouble with it.

I think I broke it again :( I've introduced some QRules which rendered my custom code not necessary, so I removed the code and re-injected QRules. Now the finshedLoading field stays "FALSE"

The only way I could fix it was to add the code back. I didn't add my custom code so the code added is purely Qdabra stuff. But, it works for now. Thanx

Feel free to email your form to Support AT Qdabra DOT com if you'd like me to take a look - you should be able to just remove code and re-inject if you no longer need custom code, but it sounds like that didn't work for some reason. Reference this thread in the email.
