Background: The project I am working on will be using
InfoPath forms to allow users to enter data into forms which will submit data
to a SQL Server database for reporting purposes and simultaneously submit the
same data to SharePoint lists to make use of SharePoint features such as
generating MS Word documents, search, version control, etc. The database and
lists are for the exclusive use of this project.
For the purposes of data integrity I would like SQL Server
to generate the record identity values when InfoPath submits the data via DBXL
to a SQL Server database. However, I also need to write the form data to a
SharePoint list along with the identity value with the form submission. Can I
used qRules to SubmitToDbxl, retrieve the SQL table record identity value
(auto-numbered ID), and then write the form data along with the identity value
with SubmitToSharePointList?
I’d like to SubmitToDbxl, somehow query the database for the
identity value, then SubmitToSharePointList. This is because I have a workflow
on the SharePoint list that takes the record entry and generates a MS Word
document that includes the identity value (ID) along with the other
information.

Darian.
