Reply Contact Hi Ernesto, In my solution, the attachements are posted in one document library and the form (XML file) is posted in another library. The XML file is sent using a submit button defined in data connection rule and it is working fine, the only problem was the attachement. Checking the permissions, I could see my account listed as Limited Access (I do not know why Sharepoint web services did that) dispite the fact I am site administrator. I deleted everything and define the library again and now all authenticated users are able to see the files moved by SaveToSharepoint command. Thanks for your prompt answer. 07-16-2012 02:25 PM In reply to dabramov Joined on 07-12-2012 Posts 26 Re: Attachement uploaded to Sharepoit thru SaveToSharePoint visible only for me Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Hi Ernesto, The form is now working fine sending the XML to one library and the attachement to another. This XML is part of the approval workflow and in the email there is a link to this XML. The approvers are able to click on the attachement URL to edit and make some changes, save and cliose the Infopath client. If I go the Sharepoint library where this attachment is posted, I cannot edit them, there is lock not released from the last edit action. If I go to the XML again and open the same attachement I cannot see the changes I just did. Do you have any idea what is going on ? 07-17-2012 04:43 AM In reply to ErnestoM Joined on 08-27-2007 Posts 3,320 Re: Attachement uploaded to Sharepoit thru SaveToSharePoint visible only for me Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Hi-I think we need to check the save location. The user opens the XML, clicks the link for the attachment, and the attachment opens. The user makes a change and saves the attachment. At this point, we need to check where the attachment was saved. Was it saved to a temporary location on the user's machine? Or if you check via File > Save As, is the SharePoint save location retained?This would be my only thought as to why "If I go to the XML again and open the same attachement I cannot see the changes I just did".Can you check this and let us know what you find? Reply Contact Ernesto, the save as option seems to me pointing to the right place, but when I try to save as a new name, the site that is showing to me is not the right site. It should be team.thehub.xerox.com/sites/gwis-xbra and it is showing team.thehub.xerox.com. I still have the same issue when I try to save (not save as) after some changes. It seems to me it is being opened locally not in the server, and the changes are not saved back to Sharepoint. When I try to open this same file directly from Sharepoint I get a message: This fie is locked by XRXNA\Q0PQXQ7L (my account) and can be opened as a Read Only. Reply Contact I just tried the following on our SharePoint 2010 server.1. InfoPath 2010 form, browser enabled, that saves attachments to a document library.2. Open the form in the browser, attach a Word document, and execute the qRules command.3. Go to the document library, and select "Edit in Microsoft Word" for the uploaded document.4. Make a change and click Save in Word. Close Word.5. Return to the document library, and select "Edit in Microsoft Word" again, to verify the changes are there.I don't see the uploaded document as locked or checked out. Of course, I used a very basic form and command, and perhaps there is something more complex going on with your form or your environment.Do you have another SharePoint environment where you could retry this? I'm really curious to know whether it is an issue with the form or with the environment. Hi-

The reason I ask is because qRules does not set permissions on the uploaded documents. The permissions are determined by SharePoint itself.
Let us know what you find. Thanks.

I just tried the following on our SharePoint 2010 server.
1. InfoPath 2010 form, browser enabled, that saves attachments to a document library.
2. Open the form in the browser, attach a Word document, and execute the qRules command.
3. Go to the document library, and select "Edit in Microsoft Word" for the uploaded document.
4. Make a change and click Save in Word. Close Word.

you have to try the following steps:
1 - Infopath 2010, browser enabled, that saves attachement to a document library;
2 - Open the form in the browser, attach a Word document, and excute qRules command;
3 - From the XML, click on the URL from attached file and open the Word document;

Ah, I see.
Clicking the link directly (http://<server>/Shared%20Documents/test.docx) is akin to going to the SharePoint document library and clicking on the link to open the document as Read Only.
Thus why my steps always involve selecting "Edit in Microsoft Word" - otherwise, yeah, the document will open in read only mode. Default behavior and qRules has no control over that, unfortunately.
We've had some previous discussions on using file:// instead of http:// from within an InfoPath form to open files in Edit mode, so perhaps that's something to try.
I notice the URL from the attached file after qRules run was File://Sharepoint site instead of https://Sharepoint.
