Hi All,

I have two lists. A job title list, employee list.

The employee list uses the job title list to allow users to select the job title of the employee. Now the form i designed uses the same job title list to note any movement of staff, hence a change in job titles.

The form has digital signatures and is finally uploaded to a SP library. I have created a workflow whi intends to take the new job title and update the employee list.

The problem is the workflow does not update the employee list and says Error Occured.

Can you please help?

I'm assuming you're using SharePoint workflow correct?  Is the workflow starting when you want it to?  Be sure that the workflow initiates when the item has changed.  Also another thing to make sure is that the proper item is being updated.  You also want to make sure that the field is promoted in the form as well.

 

Its a workflow i designed on SharePoint Designer. the workflow is starting well, its the processing taht is causing me issues. Each field have specific names and i have checked the correct item sgould be updated. Its type of update (lookup vaues-as interger etc) that is causing a coercion failure.

The fields on the form are promoted.
