Morning
folks,
After spending
most of the weekend searching on google with no joy I’m hoping someone can
help with (what I hope is) a simple issue, still very new to InfoPath and
Sharepoint so go slow with me please.
So a bit
of background.... I'm currently have a form (InfoPath)
that allows contact information to be entered and should then provide the
submitter with a reference number, this form contains 2 views, the first
allows information to be entered and contains a submit button with a few
rules and the 2nd view displays a message and reference number along
with a query field (hidden) and a repeating table. ((Just in case anyone asks
the reference number is created using a simple counter on another list which is
increased anytime a new item is added to the contact list))
After the user
enters information in view 1 and clicks submit the rules are set up to do
the following... submit the data to sharepoint > set the query field on view
2 with whatever value is in the name field on view 1, > query a data
connection > this should then show the reference number matching the query
name > switch to view 2 so the user can see the reference number.
When testing
this in InfoPath its working as expected with no issue, I can enter data
> click submit > see a reference number on view 2 (which
matches the information on sharepoint), however when I try this from the
sharepoint list itself the data is submitting with no issues but it doesn’t
seem to be query the data connection when the button is clicked so when
switching to view 2 the reference is failing to show, it's setting the query field
to the correct name and I can get around this by adding a button to view 2 with
just a query data rule which will then cause the reference on view 2 to display
but this isn't ideal.
I just can't
work out why it works perfectly well in InfoPath but fails in the browser
unless I add a second button with a rule to query the data again on view 2
Hopefully the
above makes sense, anyone have any ideas as this is driving me round the
bend.....
Thanks
in advance.
