use a web service with no code?

Is it possible to use a web service as an infopath data connection to query a sharepoint list without writing code or with little code? I am familar with how to create and use a web service and you need to create a CAML or query in C# but am not sure if this can be done without writing code? Can this be done?

Also, I have I am not sure where you would use XML, query and have seen several articles about this but none or straight forward? Where do you actually put this code? (Form load in Infopath?)

I have an Infopath form that query for data when you switch through several views but it is very slow. I know I need to either use glist.asmx or sitedata.asmx but dont know if this can be done without code or even know WHERE to write the code at? I understand I need to use GUIDS for list name and use a CAML and C# but where do I write this at? Or can you do this without code? Or how/where to write a SOAP enevelope?

    Thanks.

Yes you could you the SharePoint list data connection in InfoPath.  Then you can set the queryFields in the secondary data source and run the query against the list.  The data connection should retrieve all the list items that match your criteria.  This feature is only available in 2010.
