    Advise on forms

I'm new to using infopath and creating forms, so I was hoping someone could give me a little advise and let me know if what I want to do is possible or not.

We currently have a paper form that we'd like to put into SharePoint.

Currently a user fills out the form and then sends it to an internal department.  This department then faxes the form over to a 3rd party and files the form away.

What I'd like to happen is for the user to fill out a form online, this to then be saved in a SharePoint library and emailed to the 3rd party.  I've created the form, but this saves as an XML document, but I need to send either a doc or pdf to the 3rd party.

Just one last thing, I need to be able to do this with OOTB SharePoint functionallity.  I'm not looking for someone to give me step by step instructions, just some pointers on the best way to do it.

    Thanks

You can set up the form to save to a SharePoint library and submit via email as well.  Just set up two submit data connections so that it does both at the same time.  Or you can use workflow to say when an item is created in the library to send an email to certain individuals.  If you are talking about generating a doc or pdf, I think that may require some third party help or custom code.  But if you are just linking to an existing document then this is doable with just OOB functionality.

Thats great, I didn't realise you could set up rules on the submit button.  I can now store the form in a form library and email it to the external company.

    Many thanks for your help.
