I have a form that started out as a "filler" form, and I removed the web form incompatibilities (expression boxes with binding to repeating elements.) Then when I tried to publish as a web form, the w3wp.exe process starts thrashing and gobbles every last bit of memory on the box. At a certain point, the publish operation times out but the CPU and memory are still pegged.
If I create a basic one view form and publish it, there are no issues.
There are quite a few web service calls in the problem form, but most don't execute until the user visits a particular view and changes a control. I'm also using a data connection library for my web services connections.
At one point during the development of the form, I got an error message after doing a copy and past of a view to a new view. I found a post on the Internet on how to correct the problem by unpacking the XSN, fixing the manifest and then rearchiving using makecab. I've been successfully working with the template since then, so I doubt that my issues with Form Services is related to that.
I'm not seeing anything in the event logs or ULS that is related to IP Form Services.
I'm on an SP1 SP2010 box with the Dec 2011 CU.
Any ideas what could be causing this? I see a few things on the Internet related to memory issues during publishing, but they are mostly for IP 2007.
