I have a mapping file that I created in qrules - submitting to Sharepoint list (Sharepoint 2010). I have mapped approximately 200 fields.

If my client wants to add a field to the sharepoint list, do I need to completely recreate my mapping with all 200 fields to add one field, or can I open the mapping.xml file in Dreamweaver and manually modify the file to add that field?

 Quick response would be greatly appreciated, as I am under a deadline.

You can manually add it.

You need to add it in the mappings and in the batch - pop the XML open and take a look, and let me know if you need more info - the important thing is you need to use the internal column name from SharePoint - if you filter or sort on the column in the list in a web browser, that will be in the URL ShP generates.

That is what I was hoping for. Thank you so much. I was thinking that I was going to have to completely redo the mapping using the Qrules Infopath form.

Right...just so I am clear, I can open the xml in notepad or dreamweaver; add the field information (to the mappings and batch sections) and save the xml. then how do I upload that to sharepoint? Is there a particular method of doing this (i.e. importing, saving, ect.??), does it matter? Or do I need to update my resource file in my infopath form?

You have to update the resource file in your IP form. You do not need to walk through the data connection again if your new file has the same name, but can just add to the resource files. I'd recommend exporting from the form resource files, saving a backup copy, changing the exported file, then just re-adding to resource files and overwrite the existing.
