Help calculate tax if N/A is not selected

    Hello everyone.

Formulas are definately not my forte... therefor can I please ask for your help?

I have a very simple form that has these fields:

    "COST" - decimal double

"GST" - decimal double --- this is where I need help: here I want to have 5% of "COST" but only if "N/A" is not checked off.

    "N/A" - True/False

Can anyone help me figure out how to get an amount in my "GST" field only if N/A is not selected? And what would be the formula?

Thank you very much in advance for your help . Seeing formulas definately help me figure them out for the next time, so it's not all in vain.

     Hi-

Here's a sample form that you can look at in Design mode and check out the rules. Hope it helps!

Thank you very much for the form. It looks like it does exactly what I want it to do, but I cannot open it in designer. Not sure why either... When I open it, it only opens in preview mode, to fill it out.

Any ideas? Maybe because I have InfoPath 2010 (would have helped if I told you that in my original post... sorry).

Thanks again, I appreciate you taking the time to help me like that!

You need to right-click the file and select Design.

Thanks, I tried that before but do not get that option. I can Edit or Open. Edit doesn't do anything... I tried to download it again but that did not make any difference.

How do you usually open your templates in design mode?

That is strange, are you guys able to design that form? I was going to attach a screenshot of this but can't find a place to store it...

Anyhow, to answer your question, I would right click on the file and click design. In this case the "design" option is not there.

My forms that I have are in *.xsn format. This form offered to me as a sample to try is an xml file. I honestly cannot find a "design" option anywhere, only view I have availabe to me is to fill our the form.

    Thanks.

I have just downloaded it again and it came up with an xsn file this time that I can design. All is good now.

    Thanks!

For next time - there is a Options tab, and you can attach a screenshot there - glad it downloaded correctly this time. :-)
