    controls and multiple dropdown menus

    Hello,

    Being new here I have searched around for some answers and did find some, enough to have me come up with more as usual with someone new. I chose to post the question here and not the New User section only because there seemed to be a specific section more appropriate for this question.

    Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;}

    I am trying to figure out the best way to accomplish the following listed below. I realize there are some different options but I am curious what the masses would say is the best practice. Also as a InfoPath noob I hope someone could also explain how to accomplish the best solution, maybe an example?

    Thanks,

    David

    ===3====# of drivers========

    1

    2

    3

    =========================

    Each head unit requires 1 power outlet if factory installed because of a included wiring harness. If not factory installed it does not come with a wiring harness and requires 2 separate power outlets. In the same sense each driver requires 1 power outlet if factory installed and 2 outlets if not factory installed.

    On one screen (tab) I want the customer to select which model they are purchasing and select its configuration (number of head units and drivers) and on another screen (tab) I want to provide the customer a confirmation stating something like:

    “you have purchased a X model”

    “this requires Y number of outlets”

    Hi there,

    I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but cascading controls may be helpful for at least your first part.  Here is a tutorial video that may help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SH7xUEcQwwg

    You should use different views as your "tabs".
