    Prevent modification of form design?

i am looking for a way to prevent users from being able to modify the form template by right clicking it and going into design mode. it is a form where they need to input their information and then have their supervisor digitally sign it. they still need to be able to use the form, just not modify the form design. is there an easy way to do this without using policy templates? i think i saw similar forms that were in .XML format that did not allow users to modify the form. my form is in .XSN format. is it possible to convert my form to .XML and save the design and function of it?

Where are users opening the form from?

I guess if you're providing users an XSN, and they have InfoPath Designer, then there may be no way to limit them in what they can do.

I'll be posting the form on SharePoint. is there a way to save it as XML so they can't change it?

    Hi,

I guess I'm confused about the scenario. I can't think of anything in InfoPath that would lock the XSN so that it cannot be designed.

If the file is published to a SharePoint form library or as a SharePoint type, users typically click Add Document to open the form. That is, they don't have visibility into the XSN (to right click on it, design, etc.).

Do you expect your users to download the XSN, make changes to it, and then republish it? I guess then the answer would be to limit your users permissions so that they can't publish forms.
