    Get a file URL/Path

    Hello,

I am looking for a way to allow a user to select a file and instead of attaching the file, just grabbing the URL/Path to the file.  I then will be using that information to send out in email later.

I can put in a text box, but thats a bit cumbersome for the users to have to open an explorer session, navigate to the file, click on properties and then cut and paste back into infopath.  It would be nice if I could use an infopath control that would open an explorer window and upon selecting the file the url is grabbed.

    pie in the sky?

    Thanks,

    -B

    Hi there,

I don't believe there is a way of doing this out of the box.  Your options are the attachment control which encodes the base 64 within the form or a textbox/hyperlink control which doesn't give you the navigation you are looking for.  There might be a code solution or a custom control out there that might help, but I'm not aware of one off the top of my head.  Sorry couldn't be more help :(
